Traveling through Idaho

On the road to the Oregon coast is taking me through southern Idaho via I-84. Arid sagebrush and range is the native vegetation but much of valleys are irrigated (much with water from the Snake River).

Driving up from Utah, the land appeared very dry and one can easily imagine how hot this area gets in the summer. I stopped at an RV Park (Village of Trees) in the small (about 400 people) town of Declo Idaho; it was close to I-84 but not too much road noise and it served my needs. Declo is about 7 miles east of the agricultural town of Burley, ID; only a gas station and mini-mart so Burley is where folks go for services and supplies.

This morning, I hit the road around 8:30am and headed for Boise; a storm front came through last night so  this morning's rain helped to keep temperatures lower than normal.  The rain stopped about an hour into my drive but the winds picked up so it remained cool. Stopped at a rest area to stretch my legs and then drove nonstop to Boise; staying at Hi Valley RV Park. Tomorrow, I'll drive into Oregon!
Downtown

Grain bins and a railroad track are the dominant feature downtown.

Crossing the Snake River along I-84

Site 59 at Hi Valley RV Park in Boise. Sites are close together but campground and people are very nice.
