Korean skyscrapers

I'm amazed at the number of high-rise residential buildings in Korea; they were everywhere in Seoul but are also in many smaller towns. I'm told people like them and that they are expensive. I guess one gets used to seeing them; Coincidentally, I met a Korean architect last week who quit his profession when he figured out he couldn't change the way these and other buildings are designed. I suppose Koreans have few options since their population is growing and much of their relatively small country is mountainous.
