Nochika restaurant review

Found a casual Japanese restaurant in Kyoto for tonight's dinner. I moved hotels to the Kyoto Tokyu ( half price ($150)
of Westin and closer to Kyoto Station) and this restaurant was a short walk. I ordered sashimi ( tuna, salmon, squid, greater amberjack, and horse mackerel); enjoyed this very much with a cup of red miso:) followed this with steamed vegetables. Forgot to mention, I sat at the bar across from the chef; he started me with a small trio of edamame, eggplant, and red snapper- delicious starter!

Good was so good I just kept ordering:) also had steamed vegetables and Ocha-duke.

This place is small but it filled up quickly with locals; I was the only non-Japanese and they didn't speak English so I mostly just pointed to what I wanted on the menu. Cost around $31.

Note the cute chopstick holders:)
