Independence Day was my 100th day on the road and today the odometer clicked 10,000 miles for the trip. Been meaning to reflect on this milestone but just getting around to it. As life does, 100 days passed quickly; further motivation to be present each moment.
First 100 days Top Ten:
1. Being present and living each moment in the Now is a work in progress
2. Post-work stress is figuring out where I'll camp next weekend
3. Gas prices are not preventing people from RV camping; doesn't anyone work any more?
4. Long for a garden where I can toil in the soil
5. Not having to shop for/wear ties, suits, dress shoes, etc., is liberating
6. Buying a lot less junk and material things; no place to put them and no need
7. Seeing my past in the hurried lives of those around me; seems like a lot of pain out there
8. Not working and now living in close proximity to the refrigerator/pantry takes getting used to
9. Cleaning 25 feet is a lot easier than cleaning 2500 square feet
10. Meditation - never to young to learn
Love checking in to find out where you are now, Robert! I can especially relate to your point #9 above, particularly after returning from a camping trip! We were in Durango for Independence Day (loved the area and visited Ouray as well) and I'm just back from catching up with my family in the Bordeaux region of France. Flew into Barcelona and checked it out before doing a road trip into France via the coast, and then traveled back through the Pyrenees - stunning. It's a shame we can't take our units to Europe. I'd love to tour around from country to country over there as you're doing over here.
