Laramie WY

Following a week in the mountains, civilization was calling:) Although worried about the road noise form I-80, I checked into the Laramie, WY KOA because it was otherwise convenient. After taking a long, hot shower, I shaved the beard I'd been growing over the past week+; while it was nice not to shave, I grew tired of it. Of all the KOAs I've stayed (6 in the past 3 months), Laramie had the best WiFi, cleanest rest rooms, best showers, etc.

Went into Laramie to look around; still a sleepy town since I'd considered attending graduate school here over 30 years ago. It is now about 30,000 people but retains its small town feel. Largely a college town (UW), it is heavily influenced by agriculture. Decided not to attend graduate school at UW primarily because of the wind and cold winters; factors that still influence where I live/travel - yes, I'm a wimp when it comes to winter.

Winter used to be my favorite season; I could never get enough snow and loved the cold. Living in Vermont for 3 years while attending graduate school, cured me of this passion:)

Site 42 at Laramie KOA. Not much to look at but it met my needs for one night while I refreshed and replenished.
