A nice, cool, wet morning in Laramie provided the perfect opportunity to visit the Wyoming Territorial Prison down the road from the Laramie KOA where I'm staying. I ran by it this morning and decided to return for a visit. It was built in 1872 and operated as a federal penitentiary from 1872 to 1890, and as a state prison from 1890 to 1901.
Prisons give me the creeps and but it was an interesting tour; including the fact that after its use as a prison, UW took over the facility for use in agricultural research.
