Airstream Insurance
Insuring an RV that one lives in full-time is challenging. Although many people full-time in their RVs there are evidently few companies that understand and provide insurance for this lifestyle. It took Metlife 4 months to figure out that they don't provide this type of insurance; in February they provided me with this type of insurance but last week they changed their mind so I've been scrambling to find a new insurance company ever since. For this reason, I've remained at Curt Gowdy State Park - didn't want to be on the road without insurance. Yesterday, I visited the Farmers Insurance office in Cheyenne and insured my AS and truck with them - whew! Foremost Insurance is a subsidiary of Farmers Insurance and they have been insuring RVs, boats, and other recreational vehicles for some time so they understand the market and the risks involved. It is more expensive that traditional insurance but I have no choice; I'm just glad to have solid insurance that covers the replacement value of my AS. Another lesson learned:)
