Felt a bit under the weather yesterday. Woke up with what felt like a pulled muscle in my lower right side and felt a little weak - like I was coming down with a cold. Despite feeling a bit off, I went swimming, hoping to work out the muscle pull; once I got a few laps in, it didn't hamper my swimming but it also didn't go away. Swam a mile in almost the exact time as last Friday - 49:45. After returning home for lunch, I felt really tired and took a 30 minute nap; even with the nap, I went to bed early and slept for 9 hours!
Today, the pulled muscle feeling on my right side is gone but my entire lower back aches; went to the gym to do my weight routine and hopefully work out the ache. Didn't work it out but I generally feel better today than yesterday.
Times like this make me think about the human body and how resilient it is. We basically add fuel and water, and after resting each night, ask the body to perform flawlessly every day - kinda like our cars:). When you think about it, it's amazing this mass of cells comprised mostly of water, is so reliable. I feel very fortunate to be relatively healthy and to have the time and resources to take care of my body.
